KABUL: Azerbaijan has expressed its commitment to deepening diplomatic and economic ties with Afghanistan, highlighting the importance of their bilateral relationship.
During a meeting between Azerbaijani Ambassador Ilham Mohammadov and Mohammad Naeem, Afghanistan’s Deputy Minister for Finance and Administration at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both sides reaffirmed their dedication to strengthening cooperation.
Zia Ahmad Takal, head of public relations at the Afghan Foreign Ministry, said the discussions focused on expanding collaboration across political, economic, and cultural sectors. According to Takal, Ambassador Mohammadov underscored the progress made between the two nations and stressed Azerbaijan’s recognition of Afghanistan’s significance in the region. As a result, Baku has fully activated its embassy in Kabul and accepted diplomats from the Islamic Emirate.
Political analysts emphasized the potential benefits of this partnership, suggesting that Azerbaijan’s involvement in economic projects in Afghanistan could create vital employment opportunities and support regional development, additionally, Azerbaijan could play an important role in advocating for Afghanistan on the international stage, potentially helping Kabul gain greater recognition at the United Nations.
